Hunger-related illnesses have killed 47 children over the past two months at a government-run hospital in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.

The UN has been warning the world of the dire consequences of drought in the Horn of Africa country, where nearly three million are at risk of famine.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres recently appealed for US$ 825 million to support more than five million people in the next six months.
