“The two-state solution remains the only way to achieve the legitimate national aspirations” of Israelis and Palestinians, the UN Special Coordinator of the Middle East Peace Process told the Security Council on Thursday.

Speaking via video-teleconference, Nickolay Mladenov also expressed concern about the threat of what he described as an “abyss of radicalism that is sweeping the region”.

On Wednesday, UN chief Antonio Guterres urged for more support to the two-state solution and warned there was no “Plan B.”
