Bullying affects one in four schoolchildren: UNESCO

Of the more than one billion children at school worldwide, around one quarter face bullying, the UN said on Tuesday.

The worrying statistic comes from a new report from UN educational and cultural agency, UNESCO, which highlights that those who are most at risk are often poor or from ethnic, linguistic or cultural minorities.

New types of bullying, such as online victimization, are also affecting children’s lives, as the agency’s Christopher Castle tells Daniel Johnson.
