The “values of sport” – particularly football - are a powerful force for helping promote the UN-led Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

That’s the passionate view of Stefano Capellini, who is manager of the Inter Campus project, a global outreach programme run by the legendary Italian football club, Internazionale Milano.

Some players and staff were present on Thursday for a panel discussion at UN Headquarters entitled: The Power of Football to Change the World, Fostering the Sustainable Development Goals.”

Matthew Wells spoke to Mr Capellini before the event, surrounded by some young players from the New York area, who are taking part in the local Inter Campus football programme.
