Europe needs to build on “existing systems” to fight Zika and prevent any possible outbreak.
This was the conclusion reached on Friday by disease surveillance and control experts who were attending a three-day meeting in Lisbon, Portugal.
Health experts from the Americas were among those sharing their experience in handling the Zika virus outbreak with their counterparts from Europe.
So far, Zika outbreaks have been reported in 60 countries and territories, mostly in Central and South America.
