Trauma of terrorist crimes against Yazidis laid bare in new report
A report setting out for the first time the systematic crimes of genocide against the Yazidi minority in Iraq, by the terrorist group ISIL, has been presented to the UN Human Rights Council.
Officially entitled “They came to destroy: ISIS Crimes against the Yazidis” the report was the subject of a panel discussion on the margins of the latest council session.
Released by the Commission of Inquiry on the Syrian Arab Republic, it details the many grave violations perpetrated by the terrorists against the Yazidi in Syria and Iraq over the past two years.
Jan Ilhan Kizilhan, who took part in the panel, is a medical and psychological specialist from Germany who has been providing trauma counselling to more than 1,000 Yazidi women and girls.
