Loyce Maturu gave moving testimony to delegates from around the world during a High-Level Meeting at the UN in New York on Ending AIDS.

She is an advocacy officer for Africaid, a community-based organization which through its Zvandiri programme, provides support to children and adolescents living with HIV.

Ms Maturu was just eleven years old when she tested positive not only for HIV but also for tuberculosis; diseases that had taken both her mother and her brother.

She relived those moments with Jocelyne Sambira.
