More people have been forced from their homes due to conflict or disaster, than at any time since the end of the Second World War, a major UN summit focussing on humanitarian crises has heard.

It’s not just governments and agencies who have come together under the UN umbrella at the World Humanitarian Summit (WHS), which is underway in Istanbul, Turkey.

Ordinary people are also there and many have been giving their first-hand accounts of being caught up in a humanitarian crisis.
