An American photographer has been chronicling the aftermath of what has been called one of the world’s worst nuclear accidents.

Philip Grossman is the photographer behind the exhibition ‘Chernobyl: Tragedy, Lessons, Hope’ which is on display at UN Headquarters in New York.

The exhibition looks at the people and places affected by the Chernobyl nuclear power plant explosion which occurred 30 years ago this Tuesday.

Nargiz Shekinskaya attended the opening and asked Mr Grossman to tell her about his favourite photograph, which he likened to “picking your favourite child.”
