The death penalty has proven to be ineffective overall at reducing illegal drug trafficking.

That’s according to Kasia Malinowska, Director of the Global Drug Policy program for Open Society Foundations.

Ms. Malinowska was a panelist on Monday at a meeting leading up to the General Assembly’s Special Session on the World Drug Problem (UNGASS).

She spoke to Janie Cangelosi about global trends in drug policy.
