Third and final day of “historic” dialogue to select next UN chief
The “historic” and public briefings to select the next UN Secretary-General have ended after three days.
A total of nine candidates so far have put themselves forward for the world’s top diplomatic post; four women and five men.
The candidates all put forward their formal vision statements, and took questions from Member States and civil society groups, in unprecedentedly open briefings at UN headquarters.
Matthew Wells reports.
