Unhealthy environment behind 1 in 4 global deaths

Nearly a quarter of all deaths globally are the result of people living or working in unhealthy environments, the World Health Organization (WHO) has said.
That’s more than 12.6 million deaths each year from polluted air, water and soil, climate change and chemical exposure.
The UN agency is calling on countries to invest in strategies to reduce the risks in cities, homes and workplaces.
