It is important that girls understand what is happening at the United Nations as decisions made at the global body also affect them.

That’s the opinion of Sharon Joslyn, a member of The Grail, an international non-governmental organization (NGO) that seeks to empower women so that they can help transform the world.

The NGO will bring girls to UN Headquarters next month for the 60th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) which helps shape global standards on gender equality.

Matthew Wells asked Ms Joslyn if the current international climate makes it difficult to be a girl.
