For the millions of people forced to abandon their homes during disasters and emergencies, radio remains the best way to communicate.

Adama Dieng, the Under-Secretary General and Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide made the remarks on the eve of World Radio Day.

Speaking to Tsigue Shiferaw, Mr Dieng began by explaining what radio means to him.
