The international community needs to be “re-inspired” ahead of a key summit due to be held in Istanbul in May, the head of UN humanitarian affairs has said.

Some 125 million people around the world need some type of assistance, a number which has continued to grow in recent years.

The World Humanitarian Summit will bring together governments, international organizations, the private sector and people affected by humanitarian crises to decide how best to meet the growing needs.

The UN's Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, is Stephen O'Brien.
