The deadly Ebola epidemic is over in Liberia, bringing an end to what’s been described as a “devastating and difficult” outbreak.

Liberia was one of three West African countries, including Guinea and Sierra Leone in which more than 11,000 people died from the virus over the past 2 years.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed that all the lines of transmission for the virus have been officially stopped, across the region.

Cristina Silveiro has been speaking to Dr David Nabarro, the former United Nations Special Envoy on Ebola.
