Unless humanitarian access is granted, the “death toll will increase” in the city of Taizz in Yemen.

That’s according to the World Health Organization (WHO), which says 250,000 people in Taizz have been living in a state of a virtual siege for the last two months.

WHO is struggling to deliver medical and surgical necessities to the city due to insecurity, despite having trucks loaded with supplies ready to deliver the aid.

Reem Abaza spoke with Dr Ahmad Shadoul, the WHO representative in Yemen and asked him to describe the current situation.
