A Climate Action Summit to carry forward the hoped-for agreement on climate change at the on-going COP 21 conference in Paris was announced Saturday.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said it would take place in May to show that concrete action was being taken to build on the COP21 climate change agenda.

Bob Orr is the Secretary-General’s special advisor on climate change, and he told Stephanie Coutrix in Paris, that “unprecedented” efforts and alliances being formed there, would need to continue, if ambitious goals for containing global warming were to be met.
