Nuclear power can play important role in reducing climate change

Nuclear power can play an important role in reversing climate change, but it’s not the only solution according to the UN’s nuclear agency, the IAEA.

World leaders are on their way to Paris for an international conference at which they will try and agree a universal climate deal.

One of the goals is to reduce harmful carbon emissions.

Nuclear power does not produce significant amounts of those harmful gasses.

David Shropshire, is head of the IAEA's Planning and Economic Studies Section and will be in Paris next week.

Daniel Dickinson asked him why countries across the world were not adopting nuclear power as a way to tackle climate change.
