The important role nuclear power could play in reducing greenhouse gas emissions is the focus of a new report released by the UN Nuclear Agency, the IAEA.

The Climate Change and Nuclear Power 2015 report studies the various designs of nuclear power plants in relation to their greenhouse gas emissions.

The report comes six-weeks before the kick-off of the Paris conference where world leaders will work to reach a new legally-binding climate change agreement.

Steve Thachet spoke to David Shropshire, Head of the IAEA’s Planning and Economic Studies Section.

He began by asking about the correlation between nuclear power and climate change.
