Pope Francis, the leader of the worldwide Catholic church and head of State of the Holy See, is due to make his first appearance at the United Nations on Friday in a speech to the General Assembly.

The Pontiff is speaking at the busiest time of the year for the UN when the 193 Member States gather to discuss the globe’s most pressing issues.

It’s expected that he will touch on issues such as the migrant crisis and climate change.

The world’s media will be focused on his speech and so will Vatican Radio, the in-house broadcast service of the Holy See.
