Scaling up insurance in Africa can boost the resilience of vulnerable communities, according to the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR).

The UN is highlighting how providing insurance is one of the ways through which the public and private sectors can help low-income communities not sink deeper into poverty when faced with disasters such as erratic rainfall or drought.

Stephanie Coutrix spoke on the line with Marc Gordon from UNISDR’s Europe office in Switzerland.
