Researchers from Africa and the Asia-Pacific region have been learning how to calculate the expected yields from crops in areas where water is scarce.
The AquaCrop Software has been developed by the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency and the Food and Agriculture Organization.
It’s expected to improve agricultural water management and ultimately help farmers to maximise their yields.
