People around the world need to be made aware that 21 million globally are victims of modern day slavery; that’s the wish of the Brazilian actor, Wagner Moura, who is supporting a UN campaign to end the practice.

The 50 for Freedom campaign has been launched by the UN’s International Labour Organization, (ILO) and aims to secure the ratification by 50 countries of the Forced Labour Protocol.

The protocol, adopted by the UN last year, aims to address gaps in implementation of the Forced Labour Convention, the global agreement which was originally signed back in 1930.
