The situation in eastern Ukraine is very “grim” with four million people in need of humanitarian assistance, according to the UN Resident Coordinator in the country.

Neal Walker says people are continuing to die every day due to the conflict.

Ukraine has been plagued by fighting which broke out between pro-Russian rebels and government forces last year.

Liudmila Blagonravova caught up with Mr Walker during a recent visit to New York.

She began by asking him to describe the situation in the east of the country.
