Information and communications technology or ICT must continue to meet the needs of the world, according to a senior Internet executive.

Around one third of the global population is online, but Fadi Chehadé, President of ICANN, says policies adopted by the international community must increase access further.

ICANN is a nonprofit organization that is responsible for ensuring the Internet’s stable and secure operation.

The international technology community is currently meeting in Geneva at the World Summit on the Information Society Forum (WSIS)
