Seven Burundians who fled civil unrest in their country have died in a suspected cholera outbreak in a refugee camp in Tanzania, the UN has confirmed.

Over 20,000 refugees are now accommodated at the Nyarugusu camp.

Local immigration authorities also reported that over 50,000 Burundians were living in the open in Kagunga on the shore of Lake Tanganyika.
