A development partnership spanning five countries in Africa is providing important lessons on how to promote local, small-scale farm production while fostering food security and social protection.

The “Purchase from Africans for Africa programme” or PAA for short is supported by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

It encourages the national authorities to purchase food for school meals, benefitting farmers and the local economy.
