A group which was created in response to the disappearances of people during a period of dictatorship in Argentina has said that much progress has been made since its inception 35 years ago.

The Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances was established by the UN Commission on Human Rights in 1980 to assist families in determining the fate and whereabouts of disappeared relatives.

It now focuses on the fate of disappeared people around the world.

Experts have been meeting at the former site of one of the largest detention and torture centers that operated in Argentina in the 1970s and ’80s.

Carlota Fluxa asked Ariel Dulitzky, the President of the Working Group about its achievements.
