Countries in the Asia and Pacific region are still facing a lot of challenges in eliminating poverty and promoting development.

That’s according to Haoliang Xu, the UN Development Programme (UNDP)’s Regional Bureau Director for Asia and the Pacific.

He was in New York this week to present the bureau’s regional report, entitled: Achieving Development Results in Asia and the Pacific at an event dealing with development issues.

Hao Cheng caught up with Assistant Secretary-General Haoliang Xu who discussed the socio-economic situation in the region.
