Female genital mutilation doesn’t make any sense, according to a West African singer called the “Golden Voice from Mali”.

The procedure known as FGM is carried out on 3million girls each year across the world.

It can lead to serious health problems and even death.

Stephanie Castro has been speaking to singer Awa Sangho ahead of her performance at the United Nations for the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation.
