A school funded by agricultural and aquaculture ventures was one of eleven projects given centre stage at the first ever TEDx conference organized by the United Nations.

TED, which stands for technology, entertainment and design, is a non-profit devoted to what it calls “ideas worth spreading” and encourages communities to organize their own events, called TEDx, to foster learning and inspiration.

The eleven people invited to share their stories at the UN Office in Geneva included Beatrice Ayuru, founder of the Lira Integrated School located in Northern Uganda.

Daniel Johnson, spoke with Ms Ayuru after her talk and began by asking what the biggest challenges were to her accomplishments.
