Income inequality or the disparity between the wealth of rich and poor people, has been described by a prominent economist as a “pandemic” and a “very broad-based disease” affecting large parts of the world.

It is estimated that the richest 85 people in the world hold the combined wealth of 3.5 billion poor people.

Jose Antonio Ocampo, Professor of Professional Practice at Columbia University in New York City participated in an annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington DC.
