Women in South Sudan are being urged to speak out about violence they have experienced at the hands of men.

According to the UN, most violent acts against women are carried out by family members or intimate partners.

A new campaign to help victims of gender-based violence access medical and counselling services is being launched in the African country next month.

Pamela Tuiyott is a Senior Women Protection and Empowerment Manager at the NGO, International Rescue Committee.

She’s been talking to David Lukan.
