Displaced families from Pakistan and their Afghan hosts are in need of urgent aid as winter sets in, according to the UN Mission in the country (UNAMA).

Since June, military operations in Pakistan’s North Waziristan region, which borders Afghanistan, have led to large scale displacements.

A group of senior officials from the United Nations paid a visit to these vulnerable populations in the south-eastern province of Khost.
