There is need to address remaining concerns, including security for Burundi to hold free and fair elections in 2015.

That’s what the UN top envoy in Burundi, Parfait Onanga-Anyanga said on Thursday following a meeting held in Gitega to assess the implementation of the Roadmap towards the elections.

He said the UN will be deploying a new mission to Burundi alongside its partners to support the electoral process.

Mr. Onanga-Anyanga told Derrick Mbatha that all stakeholders in Burundi, including government officials, opposition leaders and members of civil society attended the meeting.
