Improvement in the collection of information on tuberculosis shows that there are almost half a million more cases of the disease than previously estimated.

That’s according to a report published by the World Health Organization (WHO) on Wednesday.

WHO’s “Global Tuberculosis Report 2014” reveals that nine million people developed TB in 2013 and 1.5 million died from the disease, including 360,000 people who were HIV positive.
