Delivering humanitarian aid to the people in need in South Sudan is a huge challenge due to the rainy season, poor road system and conflict.
That’s according to Margrethe Løj, the head of the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) who assumed her duties last month.
The new African country is mired in a conflict between government forces and fighters loyal to former Vice President Riek Machar, which has displaced more than one million people.
Ms Løj told Joshua Mmali that a lot of people in South Sudan are in “dire” need of assistance.
