Nuclear technology is contributing to slowing down the outbreak of the Ebola virus in West Africa, according to the UN International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The agency is providing specialized equipment which will enable the early diagnosis of the deadly disease by doctors.

Around 4500 people have died in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.

Michel Warnau works in the Africa Division of the IAEA.

Daniel Dickinson asked him for more details about the agency’s contribution to fighting Ebola.
