The humanitarian air service of the World Food Programme (WFP) has been boosted in response to the worsening outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in West Africa.

Almost three and a half thousand people have died in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.

WFP’s air service has deployed three aircraft in the region to facilitate the rapid mobilization of humanitarian staff to support the Ebola response and the delivery of light cargo.

Alpha Diallo asked Eric Perdison, Deputy Chief of WFP Aviation about the role of the service.
