Regional economic groupings in Africa or RECs are being seen as “building blocks” to achieving unity and integration on the continent.

That’s the message relayed to UN Member States during an annual briefing of the African Regional Communities or RECs.

A prosperous and peaceful Africa is the overall goal of a 50-year development plan adopted by the continent’s leaders also known as “Agenda 2063”.
