The number of hungry people around the world declined by more than 100 million over the last decade and by over 200 million since 1990, according to a report released on Tuesday.

The State of Food Insecurity in the World (SOFI 2014) is published annually by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the World Food Programme (WFP).

SOFI 2014 also shows that although the number of hungry people has gone down, there are still 805 million chronically undernourished people around the world.
