The massive operation to provide humanitarian assistance to displaced people in northern Iraq is in full swing, according to the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR).

UNHCR flights continue to deliver tens, kitchen sets, blankets and jerrycans from the agency’s warehouse in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.

The recipients are victims of violence perpetrated by fighters of the Islamic Republic of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

To find out more about the operation, Reem Abaza spoke with Mohamed Abu Asaker UNHCR spokesperson in Dubai.
