The World Health Organization (WHO) has received about $49 million from Saudi Arabia for its operations to help the people of Iraq.

Thousands of Iraqis have been displaced by attacks carried out by militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Many of the displaced people have been exposed to harsh conditions without adequate healthcare services.

Paul Garwood, WHO spokesperson in Geneva tells Patrick Maigua that the health sector in Iraq was already facing challenges even before the current conflict.
