An emergency response plan for the three West African countries currently battling the Ebola outbreak has been launched with a $100 million price tag.

World Health Organization (WHO) Executive Director, Margaret Chan, was recently in Guinea, where she met with the sitting President as well as the Presidents of Liberia and Sierra Leone to devise the plan.

Hundreds of international aid workers and over a 120 WHO staff have already been deployed to supplement outstretched treatment facilities.

The health ministers of the affected countries have been tasked with implementing the Ebola Virus Disease Outbreak Response Plan in West Africa.

Gregory Hartl, WHO Spokesperson, shared more details with Joshua Mmali.
