The ability for relief workers to deal with the Gaza crisis has reached breaking point due to the huge numbers of displaced populations and the lack of basic necessities.

Together with local authorities, the UN is appealing for $369 million to deliver aid.

Forty-four percent of the Gaza Strip has been considered a “buffer zone” or no-gone zone by the Israeli military, says Maria Jose Torres, the Deputy head of OCHA in Gaza.

Speaking to Florence Westgarde from Jerusalem, Ms Torres explains the funds are just for the most urgent, pressing humanitarian needs.
