Child exploitation in tourism “can’t be tolerated”

The exploitation of children in the worldwide tourism industry cannot be tolerated according to the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

In South East Asia where the tourism sector is continuing to grow, the organization is working to protect children from exploitation, trafficking and abuse.

The UN agency is encouraging all countries and businesses to promote the adoption of responsible policies in line with its Global Code of Ethics for Tourism. Daniel Dickinson asked the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization, Taleb Rifai, about child exploitation in South-East Asia.
