“Significant progress” has been made in fighting cholera in Haiti according to a senior United Nations official in the country.

The number of cases of the disease has fallen by 75 per cent since the beginning of the dry season in November last year.

The UN has been criticised for the role it played in the cholera outbreak in 2010 which reportedly killed over 8000 Haitians.

Bill Bergman asked Peter de Clercq, the Deputy Special Representative for the Secretary-General in Haiti about the current situation.
