Humanitarian crisis in Chad “unfolding”

The humanitarian crisis in Chad is deteriorating according to a top UN official in the region.

Around two and a half million people out of a population of 12 million are not getting enough food.

And 400,000 children are malnourished.

Robert Piper is the UN’s Regional humanitarian coordinator for the Sahel.

He’s been accompanying Valerie Amos, the UN’s emergency relief coordinator on her first trip to the country.

Isabella Dupuis asked him about the visit.
