Sport is a universal language that unites us and gives us hope, according to the winner of this year’s Boston Marathon.

Meb Keflezighi is an Eritrean-born American long distance runner who has won many international races, including an Olympic silver medal in 2004 and the New York City marathon in 2009.

He was at United Nations Headquarters in New York to celebrate sport for development and peace.

He also witnessed the signing of the first-ever Memorandum of Understanding between the UN Secretariat and the International Olympic Movement.

Stephanie Coutrix asked Meb Keflezighi how he felt to be a part of the celebration.
